Senior Project Manager – Piccadilly & OLS

Our Head Office department is in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Fortnum’s most high-profile projects in the Flagship Piccadilly store and other London stores that support the brand and customer growth plan. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while safeguarding design integrity, customer experience, and commercial outcomes. The Project Manager will oversee planning, coordination, and execution across all workstreams, managing stakeholders, third parties, and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Accountabilities

Project Delivery & Oversight

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of flagship & OLS projects, from concept through to launch and handover.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and critical paths.
  • Track progress against milestones, proactively managing risks, dependencies, and issues.
  • Ensure smooth transition from project delivery into BAU/service teams.
  • Coordinate relationship with BOH team and provide support to projects as appropriate 

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as central point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular, data-driven updates to senior leadership.
  • Partner with internal teams to integrate operational, commercial, and customer needs into delivery.
  • Define and maintain clear governance structures, including RACI and stakeholder management plans.

Design, Brand Integrity & Customer Proposition

  • Safeguard brand identity and design standards, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
  • Champion customer-centric innovation in layouts, experiences, and propositions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to align creative, commercial, and operational objectives.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • With Store Developemnt, ensure compliance with health, safety, building, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of project management frameworks and governance.

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring value engineering where required.
  • Work with Finance and Portfolio teams to track project benefits against business cases.
  • Oversee supplier tendering, contract negotiation, and performance management.

Launch Readiness & Change Management

  • Ensure robust testing and quality control processes are in place.
  • Partner with Change Managers to deliver training, business readiness, and adoption tracking.
  • Support communications and engagement to ensure seamless go-live and stakeholder alignment.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Proven leadership of complex, large-scale retail, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience in cost control, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
  • Clear, confident communicator at all levels, able to persuade and influence.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and risk management capability.
  • Collaborative and influential, able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused, with understanding of how design and delivery impact experience.
  • Highly resilient, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record delivering retail, customer-centric, or construction-led projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience managing external consultants, and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with retail design, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., PMP, Prince2, RICS) desirable but not essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver measurable business benefits.
