Assistant Merchandiser

Job description

Role Purpose: Ensure the smooth steady flow of stock into our LFC, efficiently trading the stock in country, to maximise availability, stock turns and reduce markdown and waste. Responsible for all data updates needed to trade SKUs in country. Supporting the Digital Merchandiser with other tasks as needed. 

 

Reports to: Digital Merchandiser

 
 

Key interfaces:

B&M teams, Online trading team, Marketing, Logistics, Finance, IT, 3PL colleagues.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with Category Merchandisers to ensure in-take plans are adhered to.
  • Maintain EU availability within defined parameters.
  • Escalating any issues to the Online Merchandiser.
  • Supporting our ability trade the stock in country- ensuring minimal markdown and waste, suggesting activities to avoid this.
  • Regular range reviews and feedback to Online Merchandiser on our range, identify risks and opportunities
  • Liaise with LFC on all aspects of inventory management- including queries from inbound deliveries, ensuring all labelling requirements are met.
  • Manage the D365 end to end process of shipping stock to LFC.
  • Liaise with Finance on inter-company reconciliation.
  • Manage product set- up for EU products, including pricing updates and product enrichment
  • Perform regular reviews on 3PL Stock Holding effectiveness.
  • Build on-going effective working relationships with key stakeholder.
  • Work with Merchandisers on longer term forecasts.
  • Manage the new product process for UK and EU sites
  • Update daily and weekly reporting
  • Attending trading meetings

 

Role Specific Criteria (Experience/Behaviours/Technical Ability)

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience: 

  • At least 3 years’ previous Merchandising/Supply Planning experience – ideally within the Food industry.
  • Good knowledge of end-to-end supply chain.
  • Desirable - experience in working on cross-functional role. 
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, ideally knowledge of Dynamics D365.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, numerate and able to work under pressure.
  • An ability to challenge, build credibility with a wide range of audiences and work with integrity/confidentiality at all times
