Senior Event Manger - Corporate

Fortnum & Mason events and Private Dining experiences are like no other, each and every one of them is unique. From bespoke breakfasts to business lunches, tea parties, weddings and private suppers, we offer a range of possibilities. This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead our corporate events business across all Fortnum & Mason sites with a primary focus on our spectacular Royal Exchange Venue. You will be responsible raising awareness of the site, building relationships with internal and external suppliers, keeping communication lines between departments open and working closely with guests by creating proposals and planning all details whilst remaining in line with the brand. The successful candidate will also support with Social events where required. Given this, you will have experience in a similar role; have strong written and verbal communication skills and impeccable attention to detail. You will also support with the management of the Private Dining & Events Team as a whole, providing mentorship.   As this role will have a large reporting aspect to it, it is essential that you have experience in using Microsoft Office based tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Along with this there will be weekly and monthly targets and KPIs put into place and therefore candidate with previous sales experience would be highly regarded. Our Private Dining and Events Manager takes pride in developing her team to reach their fullest potential, given this; this opportunity will see the chosen individual have chance to grow their events management skills whilst working for a renowned and historical establishment.



Events Co-Ordination


*       Co-ordination of events from initial enquiry to completion.

*       Proactive follow up of all enquiries and target focused conversion of all enquiries and overseeing the events team enquiries.

*       Effective sales skills to up-sell products and services

*       Knowledge of menu planning, food trends and presentation, and banquet and event service operations

*       Work closely with all operational staff to ensure exceptional customer experience throughout all events.

*       Keep up to date with corporate event trends and competitor analysis

*       Build relationships with agencies & event planner

*       Manage online platform listings and work closely with Hospitality Marketing Manager

*       Ensure all event collateral is distributed within the store and other departments on a weekly basis.

*       Attend trade shows and networking events to promote all Events

*       Working alongside General Manager - Private Dining & Events with managing the wider events team

*       To ensure you deal with all requests immediately not leaving unsorted matters behind and with as much details as possible on order to provide the customer with the best service possible.

*       Keep Private Dining & Events reservations details updated and collect all information on time.

*       Conduct show around in the timely and professional manners, by sharing all relevant information.

*       Being able to host or support any meeting and/or menu tastings for upcoming events.

*       Responsible for full correspondence with clients in relation to event enquiries handled.

*       Creating PO’s and ordering of all third party demands.


The successful candidate will have:


  • Previous corporate event management experience within a quality hospitality environment;
  • A professional telephone manner; * Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes;
  • Good time management and organisational skills; * A friendly but professional work ethic;
