Senior Branch Merchandiser

Job description

Role Purpose:

To provide meaningful insight that optimizes space allocations and layouts throughout our stores. Ensuring that the business marketing campaigns are fully supported and reflected within our plans.

 

Alongside your team produce beautiful, commercial, and operationally practical layout planograms that optimise sales and space by store which are cascaded to and implemented by Store and VM teams, in sufficient time to execute brilliantly and “right first time”.

 

Supporting new space and store projects and working with our Digital Transformation team to ensure we are using and optimising “best in class” tools and thinking.

Senior Merchandiser: Ambient Food & Satellite Stores

 

Direct Reports: 

Branch Merchandiser

 

Key interfaces:

Buying, Retail Store(s), Merchandising, VM, International, Marketing, Proposition Design, Finance, Store Transformation Team, Digital Transformation.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partnering with our Store Transformation team, planning new space and concepts for existing stores, extending our portfolio, and developing our pop-up strategy.
  • Collaborating with our Transformation Team to manage our Space Planning tool supplier. Leading and executing the road map for its future growth.
  • Effective use of the Space Planning tool to store and reference accurate historical data.
  • Analysing performance and working closely with the Trade Planning Lead to ensure we optimise our space in line with commercial targets, customer thinking and brand guidelines.
  • Management of the process of Branch store ranging, planning and stock optimisation.
  • Development and delivery of processes, critical paths, policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency via “right first time” execution of all plans.
  • Owner of store Macro space overview ensuring engagement of all key stakeholders.
  • Development, coaching and management of the Branch Merchandising team. 

Role Specific Criteria (Experience/Behaviours/Technical Ability)

  • Previous experience as Branch Merchandiser is essential.
  • 3-4 years’ experience needed, ideally within a luxury environment.
  • Experience of Scorpion/Retail Smart planning tool highly desirable.

 

They should have good analytical skills, be organised, communicate well, prioritise in order of business importance, and have good attention to detail. Personable, being able to communicate at all levels of the business and build excellent relationships. Skilled in translating analysis into insight.
