Retail Pastry Chef (Part Time)
Job description
An exciting opportunity has landed at Fortnum & Mason Piccadilly, as we look for a Retail Pastry Chef, with a focus on our Confectionery counter on the Ground Floor.
Our Retail Pastry Chef will be front and centre of our Confectionery island creating a sense of theatre, whilst working with the finest chocolate products.
You will be delivering a first class experience to our customers, providing a sense of theatre as you personalise products and customers orders.
This is a full time role, 20 hours per week over 2-3 days.
Key Responsibilities General:
- Production of all items, with the correct recipe card and procedure, correct quantity and of good quality
- Work in collaboration with the management team to deliver front of house service
- To maintain hygiene and sanitation of the work area
- Use of the chocolate tap and tempering chocolate
- Work with the teams to create new ideas and products of high quality confections
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience as a Commis/Demi Chef de Partie with a focus on Pastry or Chocolate
- Knowledge of chocolate production techniques, including tempering & moulding
- A good understanding of Health and Safety
- Strong artistic skills, with focus on personalisation
- The ability to use initiative and prioritise tasks to meet production deadlines
