Online Trading Executive

Job description

Role Purpose: Plan and optimise the online shopping journey across the Fortnum and Mason website, supporting product and campaign launches, enhancing user experiences and continuously exploring opportunities to further benefit both customer success and business revenue.

 

Reports to: Online Trading manager

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Aligned with the Online Trading Assistants, optimise the launch of new products and campaigns online, ensuring that the merchandising, navigation, filtering, search and on-site flows are setup to benefit user journeys and overall campaign success.

  • Work closely with the Buying & Merchandising teams, along with the Online Trading Assistants, to effectively plan future trading activity.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Content teams to ensure product detail and listing pages are created with optimum engagement in mind.

  • Partner with key stakeholders in the Digital Marketing team to ensure best practice for links and SEO are carried out.

  • Carry out frequent competitor analysis to aid commercial planning.

  • Maintain a digital campaign and NPD calendar, ensuring all teams are fully aware of upcoming campaign activities and product launches.

  • Work with Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing and Online Trading Assistants to align on photography and campaign assets.

  • Explore opportunities for site efficiencies and improvements in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Manager and the Digital Transformation Manager.

  • Along with the Continuous Improvement Manager, define cases for A/B tests across the site; measure, analyse and provide recommendations for site changes.

  • Present campaign plans to key stakeholders for approval when required.

  • Conduct quality assurance on live content; reviewing assets, links, image accuracy, text accuracy, customer journey and experience.

  • Support the Online Trading Manager with regular reporting and analytics as required.

  • Analyse seasonal campaigns results and identify successes, failures, and trends. Effectively communicate these to stakeholders with actionable insight to drive commercial gain both during and post campaign.

  • Where necessary, support the Continuous Improvement team in UAT for sprint releases. Devoting time to sufficiently test changes, across devices to ensure they meet expectations

  • Where necessary, particularly in peak trading, support the in the day-to-day running of the website.

 

Role Specific Criteria:

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:

  • At least three years’ experience in a fast-paced luxury ecommerce environment.

  • Passion for luxury retail as well as an understanding of the wider retail landscape.

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field.

  • Excellent literacy and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work in a high demand working environment whilst keeping to time frames.

  • Highly organised and results-orientated.

  • Strong multi-tasking abilities, with an ability to prioritise, and work to tight deadlines in a calm and effective way.

  • Attention to detail; always looking to improve.

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Experience of Adobe Commerce (Magento) an advantage.

  • Tenacious, proactive and self-motivated.

  • Positive, can-do attitude.

  • An understanding and appreciation of the Fortnum’s Brand.
