Online Trading Assistant

Job description

Role Purpose:

Responsible for the upload and management of products on the Fortnum & Mason website

 

Reports to: 

Online Trading manager

 

Key interfaces:

Buying and Merchandising teams, Digital Marketing, Brand Commuications, External Agencies (Creative, Print Providers)

 

Key Accountabilities:

Key objectives

*       Along with the Buying & Merchandising team, upload products onto the website within given timeframes

*       Coordinate product photography along with the Buyers and manage the product image bank

*       Manage the image bank for campaign creative and photography

*       Enrich the product data within our ecommerce platform, working with the Buying team to ensure that data is accurate and the website provides the most positive customer experience

*       Upload products to their relevant edits and category pages

*       Using our Search and Merchandising tool, pin new products as needed and ensure that the relevant results are shown under related search terms

*       Work through a backlog of existing products to enhance the ongoing range with new product page features

*       Lead the web walks of owned categories, highlighting performance and opportunities for improvement, and carry out tasks raised by the Buying team. Write effective meeting notes throughout and share with key stakeholders in a timely manner

*       Support in the creation and implementation of seasonal campaigns on the website, applying a strong attention to detail to overall aesthetic and merchandising

*       Carry out weekly trade reporting, monitoring and providing analysis on out of stock customer requests, on-site search volumes and competitor activity

*       Analyse product and category performance and make recommendations to the Online Trading Manager for improvements

*       Participate in team meetings and contribute toward our need for continual improvement

*       Complete weekly audits on the site as directed by the Online Trading Manager

*       Check digital marketing activity as requested for product, link and campaign accuracy

*       Manage product carousels on key landing pages, nominating products based on brand needs, stock and relevancy

*       When required, user testing of website improvements

Required skills

*       Experience in a similar ecommerce role a benefit.

*       A desire to progress in an Online Trading environment.

*       A passion for luxury retail as well as an understanding of the wider retail landscape.

*       Degree qualification in a relevant field.

*       Excellent literacy skills.

*       An ability to work with pace and deadlines.

*       Pro-active, inquisitive and analytical.

*       Highly organised and results-orientated.

*       An attention to detail; strives for perfection.

*       Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes.

*       As understanding and appreciation of the Fortnum’s Brand.
