Marketing Manager

Job description

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Regional General Manager with 1 direct report, this role is a key business partner to the Retail Operations, Hospitality Operations. The role is responsible for the end to end delivery of considered & comprehensive marketing strategies to support; product launches, marketing campaigns, commercial initiatives supporting category trading plans and place-making activities to drive footfall to Fortnum’s bricks-and-mortar store and restaurant in the HK. The role will work closely with colleagues in Retail, Hospitality, Brand Communications, VM, Online & external operating partners to develop and implement cohesive and integrated marketing plans that build brand awareness, equity and perceptions of innovation and prestige amongst our target customers.

Senior Marketing Executive

Key Accountabilities:

*       Develop, implement and manage campaigns to support the busy and diverse annual marketing calendar, by increasing brand relevancy & visibility to drive footfall to Fortnums, supporting the ultimate goal of increasing revenue.

*       Deliver marketing objectives through a programme of campaigns, with investment and effort aligned to commercial opportunity, ensuring cohesive cross-channel activation & on brand creative execution. All coordinated through the annual marketing calendar & with appropriate budget control.

*       In collaboration with Buying, Creative, VM, PR, Retail & Hospitality Ops, be responsible for communicating and over-seeing the end-to-end customer experience in-store for retail marketing campaigns, product launches and events.

*       Assist the development of tactical plans to support underperforming categories or departments.

*       Ensure all Retail and Hospitality initiatives are joined up, cohesive in approach and communicated well in advance of execution.

*       Construct the take to market plans to support Private Dining objectives.

*       Contribute to the weekly Trade report, detailing performance metrics versus KPIs for footfall, covers & any other relevant insight.

*       Produce detailed evaluation of all marketing campaigns versus pre-determined KPIs, sharing with relevant colleagues and applying learnings to future activities.

*       Work with VM, Brand Comms and Buying to ensure all wayfinding, POS and signage makes sense to the customer, whilst driving footfall flow through stores and work to deliver efficiencies within all processes.

*       Support the Senior Marketing Executive in managing the workflow and production of all POS materials.

*       Support the Regional General Manager with ad hoc retail-focused promotional activities and opening of pop-up stores

*       Work with external operating partners to ensure all footfall-driving opportunities are exploited.

 

Role Specific Criteria (Experience/Behaviours/Technical Ability)

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:

*       Excellent command of English, Cantonese & Mandarin

*       Significant stakeholder management experience at a senior level, with a data-driven approach to secure support and endorsement.

*       Proven marketing experience in planning and executing campaigns that connect product to brand.

*       Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate the negotiation cultures of both the UK and Hong Kong.

*       Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work closely with the London team and influence across disciplines.

*       Passion for food, drink, and luxury goods, with the ability to communicate this effectively in a retail environment.

*       Adaptable, tenacious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

*       Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

*       Creative flair balanced with commercial acumen and numeracy.

*       Degree in marketing or a related field.

*       Experience managing a team and agency relationships, with strong budget management skills.
