Learning and Development Partner

Job description

The L&D Partner plays an active role in Fortnum & Mason’s performance and success by helping to create a culture where learning, self-development and inquisitiveness are valued and nurtured.

In this role you will ensure employees across the organisation have the skills required to work effectively, to deliver on our ambitious strategy, and to live our values every day. You must be a skilled communicator who has experience of dealing with people from a range of backgrounds and abilities. You will be required to build relationships in the business and conduct learning needs analysis to ensure that we are investing in our people in the right way and that we are bringing the latest thinking and methodologies to drive positive and long-lasting change. To this end, you will have experience designing, delivering, and evaluating learning solutions in a variety of mediums including digital. This is a generalist L & D role which encompasses all areas of Learning and development ensuring digital in classroom, apprenticeships, Insights and development tolls are used to provide the best learning environment for our business

Business partnering:

  • Work with the Learning and Development Manager to support the creation of the learning and development strategy.

  • Collaborate with HRBPs, Management teams and various stakeholders to identify training and development needs across the business.

  • Conducting detailed and fully costed learning needs analysis reports for stakeholders requiring training activities.

  • Build rapport with wider business and stakeholders to effectively deliver learning solutions.

  • Update HRBPs and Management teams on training completion by compiling detailed reports and analysis.

  • Manage and maintain accurate records including project plans, training calendars and project costs.

  • Actively communicating development opportunities to the business and promote our Future Talent Apprenticeship Program.

  • Being a collaborative voice within the organisation, fostering a culture of inclusion and thinking about how we can support and develop teams to the highest standard.

  • Partner with stakeholders to embed, review and enhance our Future Talent Apprenticeship Program.

  • To support the HRBPs and Management teams in identifying future talent and suitable development activities.

  • To liaise with the HRBPs and Talent Acquisition team and promote apprenticeship roles for attracting new and diverse talent.

  • To keep up to date with Industry trends, and support the Innovation of the department as the business develops

Training Design

  • To design, deliver and evaluate effective training pathways to ensure our teams are set up for success with the right knowledge, skills, and behaviours for their new roles.

  • To identify, map out and embed suitable apprenticeships into our training pathways.

  • To design, deliver and evaluate training activities using different mediums (digital, classroom etc) and blended learning approach.

  • To ensure our training materials are kept up to date and relevant through our training update cycle.

  • To evaluate training activities following Kirkpatrick’s training evaluation model.

  • To create accurate and detailed storyboards to support the creation of digital training.

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify essential knowledge training on all our products and services.

Future Talent & Development

  • Represent Fortnum & Mason externally at outreach and networking events.

  • Review and manage existing partnerships with third party providers, (including schools, colleges and Universities) and build new partnerships to enhance our reputation as an employer of choice for future talent and influence our reputation and standing in the industry.

  • To design, delivery and evaluate development and rotational programs in line with business priorities and development needs.

  • To manage the enrolment of apprentices onto the apprenticeship portal and related administrative tasks.

  • To design and promote “Mastery” events on various topics such as product, services, software, and soft skills etc.

  • To identify and embed qualifications/apprenticeships that support ‘Mastery’.

  • To coach and support our operational trainers to deliver engaging training to colleagues that are new to role.
