Interim Part Time Internal Product Technologist (8 Weeks)

Job description

To technically manage the F&M Product Safety Management system, within our stores restaurants, to manage risk and ensure traceability.

 

A key requirement of the role is an ability to drive positive changes within the stores and restaurants.

 

The role will also coordinate and provide quantifiable updates on the technical areas of responsibility.

Specific Role requirements

Operational procedures

  • To ensure internal operational procedures, COP and Policies manage current known risks to the business.
  • To create documents, create a scheduled review 3+process and to implement document control.
  • To ensure these procedure are trained out to all relevant areas of the business and supply chain
  • To ensue these documents are audited to both internally (quarterly) and externally to a predefined risk assessed rota.
  • To ensure all areas have in situ access to the Fortnum and Mason operational procedures.
  • To ensure compliance to these documents are monitored, trended and reported to the business.

 

Due Diligence

  • Ensure DD Paperwork covers all relevant CCPs, provides traceability and covers all external and internal pop up events (oyster bars, picnic hubs).
  • Training on how to complete DD paperwork is rolled out to all new staff.
  • Is audited in situ every two weeks, is written up, trended and reported to the business.
  • All areas have access to the latest version of the paperwork.

 

Training

  • Training schedule and bespoke Fortnum and Mason training in place that trains out the requirements of F&M operational procedures and provides add on tailored training for the specific needs of the colleagues attending (ie Butchery counter, or restaurant serving staff)
  • All new F&M staff are provided with training and the compliance of all staff training to be monitored as part of the Internal audits.
  • Signed training records for all operational procedures relevant for each college agues roles to be collated
  • Quick guide introduction for Product Safety at F&M to in place and to be kept up to date with all key 2nd languages.

Audits – Internal, External and DD audits

  • All audits to be carried out to the schedule and all corrective actions followed up and closed off.
  • Internal audit schedule to be maintained and kept up to date.
  • Internal audit results to be communicated to relevant managers, in the weekly and monthly reports.
  • Internal audit results to be trended and correctives actions to be closed off within the communicated timescales.
  • External audits to be carried out to the standards agreed and within the timescales stated in the Supplier assurance policy.

Surveillance testing

  • Surveillance testing scheduled to be maintained and followed
  • All relevant products to be tested to the schedule.
  • F&M surveillance acceptable standards to be written, maintained and communicated to the suppliers and internal food preparation colleagues.
  • Out of specification Internal audit results to be communicated to relevant managers, in the weekly and monthly reports.
  • Surveillance results to be trended
  • Surveillance results to be actioned in a timely manner and closed off in a way to ensure due diligence.

 

Customer Complaints (Originate store retail and hospitality)

  • To be logged and dealt within the agreed timescales
  • To be investigated to identify the root cause and corrective actions implemented in to business policy if required.
  • To be trended and reported on a weekly and Monthly basis.
  • To be investigated as per the F&M complaints policy.

 

Qualifications

  • Scientific degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years experience in a technical area in either retailing or manufacturing
