Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the infrastructure team, to provide 2nd and 3rd line configuration, operation, management and support for our cloud, on prem server, network, storage & backup solutions.  

 

Working closely with colleagues in our support and application teams, the candidate will improve and enhance infrastructure, maintaining a highly available, scalable, robust and secure environment to deliver technology dependent business-critical functions seamlessly to our growing business.  The candidate will have drive and enthusiasm to propose and make improvements to keep enhancing our systems, solutions and technologies and will help identify opportunities to enhance the technology landscape within the business.

 

This is an opportunity to be part of a small team of specialists, collaborating with 3rd parties on some exciting projects in the infrastructure space. This candidate will champion infrastructure and architecture best practice, shaping product and technology selection and delivery. 

Responsibilities

Operational

*       The Infrastructure Analyst will work hands-on as part of projects and also as part of the support function to enhance all infrastructure and systems. (The responsibility includes server hardware, hypervisors, virtual machines, operating systems and Microsoft services including Office365, Azure, IIS, SQL Server, SCCM, File & Directory services.)

*       Working with our 3rd party to maintain health of Cisco Meraki Network.

*       Enacting internal and external vulnerability scanning reviews with our security partner to maintain PCIDSS compliance.

*       Device image creation using MS Intune & Autopilot for retail/ hospitality POS as well as corporate & mobile devices.

 

People & Collaboration

*       Collaborate with the support functions to deliver the highest level of support for the business.

*       Provide concise, clear documentation.

*       Work cross functionally with the technology teams to imbed the infrastructure strategy.

*       Become a trusted advisor to our project teams by being known as the subject matter expert in all elements of infrastructure.

*       Support third parties working for or in conjunction with our overall network and infrastructure requirements, ensuring that they meet our standards and ways of working.

*       Educate both the team and broader business on subjects such as networking, infrastructure & backups. 

         

Previous Experience (including qualifications where relevant)

 

*       Proven experience of working in a similar role for a minimum of 5 years; exposure to the Retail sector or Hospitality is desirable but not mandatory.

*       Demonstrable experience of the systems listed below that are identified as Essential to the role

*       Must be able to demonstrate experience of being self-sufficient and a self-starter.

*       Azure Administrator.

  • Microsoft Azure (IAAS, VM, VNets, Resource Management )
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Microsoft SQL Server basic administration  
  • Microsoft Office365 configuration troubleshooting and best practice
  • Server and storage hardware technology (Dell) 
  • IIS, certificates and their management (internal and public)
  • Assessing ASV Scans and managing remediation activities 
  • Wireless Technologies including Meraki WiFi
