Our Royal Exchange satellite bar & restaurant is located in the heart of Bank. This bustling London location is within walking distance to plenty of bus stops, as well as Bank station. There is plenty to do and explore in this area and just a hop, skip and a jump to the London CBD.
General Manager – Royal Exchange
Taking pride of place at the Royal Exchange Courtyard in Bank, the Fortnum’s Restaurant and Bar is one of London’s most Instagrammable restaurants. Serving a luxurious selection of fine caviar and oysters to hand carved smoked salmon with our very own selection of cocktails. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea 56 days a week.
We are currently looking for an experienced General Manager to be the figurehead of this very successful restaurant and delivering a faultless customer experience.
Key Accountabilities:
Leading the restaurant and ensuring it meets and exceeds all compliance and F&M standards and targets
Coach and develop your managers to ensure efficiency, leading by example
Update your management team on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
Tour the restaurant regularly
Chair regular meetings with managers
Own monthly reporting for the restaurant communicating highlights, lowlights, opportunities and risks for the period
Complete and deliver monthly one to one reviews in line with Company Objectives, Vision and Values, using this time to set and review individual objectives
Communicate effectively, in a way that your managers are empowered and involved in all appropriate developments across the business
Demonstrate high levels of planning, organising, and time management to drive the operational execution across the department
We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:
Excellent interpersonal skills for diplomatically handling staff and customers
Cooperation and team working skills
The ability to lead and motivate a team of staff
The ability to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good business awareness for achieving successful performance
Strong written and oral communication skills for managing business administration and personnel matters
Strong planning and organisational skills to run a streamlined operation
The ability to work independently and make decisions confidently
Problem-solving ability, to resolve issues as they arise
