About The Role:

The role is to work with the department’s Buying team to deliver great ranges on time, supported by perfect product data. You will support with the maintenance, selection and launch of both core and seasonal product ranges. You will work closely with key interfaces, vendors and external partners to build and maintain positive relationships – maintaining standards, managing data and meeting deadlines.

Reports to: Christmas, Home Entertaining & Stationery Assistant Buyer

Direct Reports:  n/a

Key interfaces:

Merchandising, Retail, Warehouse, Marketing, Online

What You'll Do:

  • Product data expert- including product set up and maintaining product data  
  • Collating trade reports where appropriate
  • Working closely with the web team on range planning, shoots and maintaining range plan
  • Managing the supplier training & activation calendar. Creating training packs and support in hosting training sessions 
  • Support Buyer with NPD critical path
  • Coordinating with marketing on key events
  • Day to day sample and new product management with suppliers.
  • General department Admin
  • Cross functional working with all other areas of the business
  • Co-ordinating and implementing shop floor product layouts
  • Handling accounts queries within compliance and finance  
  • Manage the QC process with the technical department
  • Manage the Trace to Source initiative

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience: 

  • To have an awareness of our business, and our competitors, as well as a passion for all things ‘Christmas, Home Entertaining and stationery’ is an absolute must.
  • To be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness, and be numerate
  • To be able to have a creative eye, and identify new and seasonal trends in collaboration with the team.
  • To be able to learn quickly, and adapt to changing priorities
  • To be comfortable working with different systems and juggling multiple tasks
  • To have an ability to work under pressure, prioritise, and manage own workload to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
  • To be able to quickly establish and maintain positive internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • To be self-motivated, and have a proactive attitude to work and an aptitude to learn

  • Experienced with excel, word and outlook
  • Previous retail and office experience would be ideal
