About the Restaurant

Epitomising the elegance and tradition of Afternoon and High Tea, the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon is one of London’s most iconic dining destinations. Opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 2012, the Tea Salon serves an exceptional selection of teas, our renowned freshly baked scones, delicate pastries, and exquisite sandwiches — seven days a week for guests celebrating life’s most special occasions.

In addition to its celebrated Afternoon Tea service, the Tea Salon also hosts a wide range of exclusive private dining experiences, from elegant celebrations to high-profile events.

The Role

We are now looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled pastry chef who is eager to refine their craft and contribute to a high-performing team within a prestigious and fast-paced environment.

As Pastry Chef de Partie, you will take ownership of your section, ensuring the consistent delivery of beautifully executed pastries that reflect Fortnum & Mason’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of your pastry section, ensuring all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards
  • Support senior chefs in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining consistency and quality across service
  • Demonstrate strong organisation and time management to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Maintain high levels of food safety, hygiene, and due diligence at all times
  • Assist with stock control, ensuring accurate usage and minimal waste
  • Identify and communicate any operational challenges to the senior team proactively
  • Collaborate effectively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Contribute to maintaining the overall excellence of the Tea Salon through attention to detail and pride in your work

About You

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or Commis Pastry Chef within a high-quality kitchen
  • A genuine passion for pastry, baking, and Afternoon Tea-style offerings
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistency and presentation
  • A positive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen standards
  • Demonstrates reliability and strong tenure in previous roles
